LAHORE: Justice Shahid Waheed of Lahore High Court on Monday accepted an application and allowed the petitioner to attach more documentary evidence with his petition requesting formation of a judicial commission to investigate the allegations made by former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain.
In this application, Barrister Ali Gillani sought permission to attach news clippings and other documents with his petition, which was allowed by the court. It gave him until March 17 to do this. Barrister Gillani moved this application in his already pending constitutional petition requesting formation of a judicial commission to investigate the allegations made by Kamal against the MQM chief. The petitioner said the statements of both these persons amounted to their confession of involvement in criminal activities at the behest of Altaf. He submitted that there was a dire need to dig out the truth of these statements, as these persons have been accused of serving Indian spy agency RAW. He requested the government be directed to form a commission to probe the allegations and Mustafa Kamal and other MQM leaders’ names be put in ECL.
