ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday finally reached Islamabad after staying away from Prime Minister House almost 60 days.
He, along with his family, traveled by helicopter from JatiUmrah to Lahore airport and then flied to Islamabad by special plane.He would preside over the National Security Council meeting on Friday.
The Prime Minister had undergone a heart surgery in London in May and returned to Lahore this month on the advice of his doctors after recuperating from surgery.
Since his arrival on July 9 from London, the prime minister was running official affairs of the country through a camp office in Lahore.Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was due to arrive in Islamabad on Monday but had developed an infection in his leg and could not travel to the capital.
-Prime minister convenes NSC meeting on Friday –
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has convened a meeting of National Security Committee on Friday, July 22.
The meeting will review national security issues and regional situation. PM Nawaz would preside over the session. The meeting would include Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Rashad Mehmood and chiefs of the three armed forces.DG ISI, DG IB will also attend the meeting.
Several high profile ministers such as defence minister, interior minister, federal ministers of the treasury, adviser national security, foreign adviser and others would attend the meeting.
According to the media reports, matters related to the National Action Plan, operation Zarb-e-Azb, and Karachi operation would also come under discussion.
